Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has said he doubts the credibility and sincerity of the NDC on the free SHS policy. To him they cannot be trusted.

In an exclusive interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on PEACE FM ‘kokrokoo’ morning show, Dr. Bawumia said;

“they give so many versions of what they think about the free SHS policy. Meanwhile they have not been able to tell us what they will do as far as the free SHS policy is concerned.”

Responding to what the presidential candidate for the NDC former John Mahama, when re-elected into power as president in the upcoming general elections, he will review the policy. What does it mean? He quizzed.

To him, the NDC will say anything they needed to say to win an election.

According to Dr. Bawumia,

the policy has been in place for the last four years. if you want to change it, you have to tell what you are bringing on board that will help us to interrogate but you rather say “will review it. It does not make sense.” he added.

The free SHS programme is said to have benefited about 1.2 million school children in Ghana.

First batch of the beneficiaries are currently writing their West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
