Eric Donkor speaks about Kotoko and AshantiGold


AshantiGold SC, defender Eric Donkor, has examined his life at AshantiGold and his former club, Asante Kotoko.

Eric Donkor had the privilege to play for both clubs which are considered as the regional rivals.

The 28-year-old defender played seven season with Kumasi Asante Kotoko before moving to the club’s rivalry, AshantiGold SC.

According to Eric Donkor, AshantiGold SC lead his former club, Asante Kotoko in terms of infrastructure.

In an interview on Angel FM earlier today, the defender said, “In terms of infrastructure, I will say Ashgold is ahead of Kotoko”.

He made it known that, AshantiGold SC have their own camping base, pitch and other things which his former club lacks.

However, the defender further disclosed that his former club, Asante Kotoko paid him well as to his immediate club.

“My salary at Kotoko was way higher than that of Ashgold” – Eric Donkor.

“Ghana Football is really lacking behind in terms of the salary players receive. Hopefully, even if the leaders cannot arrive at a minimum wage for us, they should try for the next generation”, he added.

Eric Donkor’s contract at AshantiGold has expired and it’s a matter of time to see if the club would renew his contract as they prepare for the African Championship.
