Thiago Silva joins Chelsea on a free transfer

Formal PSG captain and Brazilian international, Thiago Silva, has signed a one-year deal with an option to extend his contract with Chelsea.

The 35-year-old defender is still determined on playing for the next three or four years of top European football competitions.

After a successful season at PSG, the Brazilian defender ended his stay with the French capital to join the Blues having turned down a 2-year deal from Fiorentina.

On signing for Chelsea, Silva said, “I am so happy to be joining Chelsea. I am delighted to be a part of Frank Lampard’s exciting squad for next season and I’m here to challenge for honours”.

Frank Lampard would depend on Silva’s experience as he hopes to solidify Chelsea’s defense after already securing the service of Chilwell.

Chelsea have been a club with a busy summer signings after securing the likes of Timo Werner, Chilwell, Sarr, Hakim Ziyech and now Thiago Silva.
