An official report by the former Egypt Football Association Vice-President, Ahmed Shobier, indicates that the most prestigious trophy in Africa has gone missing.

It was such an incredible achievement by the Egyptian National team as they secured the trophy in 2006,2008 and 2010.

The all time best country in winning the prestigious trophy had the opportunity to permanently claim the floating trophy.

However, it has been reported that the trophy has gone missing after winning it a decade ago.

In an official statement by Shobier, he said, “The EFA started looking for some trophies as they aim to put them in a notable museum inside the EFA”

He added that the EFA was surprised to find that the AFCON trophy was lost and has decided to open an investigation.

“They were informed by an employee inside the association that it was held by former Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan who refuted this claim. Nobody knows where is the trophy at the time being”, – Shobier.
