Both clubs are working to finalise a deal for the 2020/21 campaign. Real Madrid refuse to include an option-to-buy in the deal for Arsenal as they hope Ceballos would be key for the club.

The Spaniard midfielder wants to keep his dream alive by playing on loan with Arsenal, as he hopes to fight and secure his place with Real Madrid in the coming years.

The midfielder has agreed to move back to Arsenal after he realized that Zidane did not consider him to be part of his squad.

Arsenal’s head coach, Arteta, also played a key role in persuading the midfielder to come back to the club.

Speaking about Ceballos last week, Arteta said: “We have some talks and Dani knows really well what I think about him”.

At the loan spell with the Gunners, Dani Ceballos made 37 appearances at the Emirates Stadium, scored twice and finished the season as FA Cup winner.
