The Christian Association of Nigeria CAN has protested the killing of worshippers by gunmen at Saint Francis Catholic Church in Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
They killed scores of Christians at the church during mass.
The armed members of the association with placards that read โStop Persecution of Christiansโ, โDonโt Play Politics With Our Livesโ, โStop Killing Christiansโ, and โAddress Insecurity in Nigeria Urgentlyโ.
Others read โEnough of Condolences, We Need Actionโ, Christians Are Not Happy, We Need Justiceโ.
Dare-devil gunmen had on Sunday rained terror in the community when they attacked the church, which is in the town’s heart.
The protesters marched to the Palace of Olowo, Oba Gbadegesin Ogunoye, to express their displeasure over the attack.
The state CAN chairperson, Anslem Ologunowa, joined the demonstrators and denounced the attack.
They called the incident barbaric and urged the government to increase security in the state.
