AFENYO-MARKIN CUTS SOD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IN EFFUTU

Development-oriented Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has cut the sod for the construction of a children’s hospital in the constituency.

The project which will take six months for its completion, is located at Gyengyenadze, near Winneba.

It is the first children’s hospital to be constructed in the whole of the Central Region.

At the groundbreaking ceremony to herald the construction of the project, Honourable Afenyo-Markin, otherwise known as ‘Show Boy’, said that the development of a nation or people depends largely on the health status of the people.

In his view, children grow up to continue with the progress of a people and if these children are not well taken care of, expected progress is doomed.

The hospital, upon its completion, will serve not only the children of Effutu but the entire Central Region.

The chiefs and people of Gyengyanadze expressed their appreciation for the project and prayed for long life, prosperity and continued stay in office for ‘Alex’ as they popularly refer to him.
